This is my GO-TO recipe for Chocolate Chip cookies. Buy milk chocolate chips for a smoother flavor. Use only REAL vanilla extract and don't overcook them if you want them chewy in the middle and just a bit crispy on the edges.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup shortening
  • 1 cup sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 ½ cups flour
  • 1 bag milk chocolate chips

Directions

Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs, vanilla and milk. Add salt, baking soda and flour. Add chocolate chips, usually only about 3/4 of the bag. Bake at 350 for about 10-12 minutes or until just barely brown around the edges.
